September 17, 2022. Article 59.2 of the Law “On Mass Media” states that, apart from the Milli Majlis, the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, other state bodies (institutions) cannot be founders of a printed media.
The Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 17, 2022 approved the list of state bodies (institutions) that can be founders of print media in the country, and their number has been increased. The list includes the Office of the President, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the State Border Service, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the State Examination Centre.
