The report states that journalist Avaz Zeynalli demanded 20,000 manats from the family of imprisoned businessman Rasim Mammadov.
It should be noted that according to the information published by the Haqqin.az website, on September 3, journalist A. Zeynalli began to demand 20,000 manats from the family of the imprisoned businessman. To get money, he slandered the businessman’s family and children. He said that if they gave money, he would stop his criticism. But even after receiving the money, he continued his negative behavior. Having received the money, he continued to insult and criticize the businessman. In response, close relatives of the businessman demanded their money back.
On September 11, the Binagadi District Court ordered to arrest the journalist Avaz Zeynalli and his lawyer Elchin Sadigov. According to the decision, both persons were sentenced to 4 months in prison.
